• It’s the Little Things

I am thankful for my husband. He blesses me in so many ways throughout the week. Honestly, too often I take the many acts of kindness he does for me daily for granted. He shows love to me even when I am a mess.

Most mornings he is up early to make me breakfast and coffee to help get me out the door for work. Often dinner is ready by the time I get home from work. He is willing to try out a different restaurant or go on an adventure with me.

Whether we’re tackling home projects or enjoying a date night, I love spending time with my handsome man. He treats me well, loves me despite my craziness, and is an amazing Dad to our girls.

There are countless reasons why I feel blessed to have him as my partner and best friend. I am grateful to have the opportunity to walk through life with him by my side. He really is the calm to my chaos.

Today I came home from running errands with one of the girls and the dishes were washed, groceries picked up and these beautiful flowers were waiting for me. His little acts of kindness are daily reminders of how truly blessed am I.

The older I get the more I am reminded that each day really is a precious gift. May we always cherish our shared moments together. My prayer is that he recognizes the depth of love for him—not solely based on his actions, but because of the remarkable person he truly is.

  • Counting My Blessings: Week In Review

It was a fun week with my family.  While Jake and I were working this week the girls were busy on the farm at Horse Camp.  They were riding horses in the mornings, had a picnic lunch, helped with animal chores, and did a Bible Study at camp.  It was a busy and tiring day for them, but they loved it and several times I think they would have preferred to stay at camp instead of coming home.  They were able to experience a wide variety of tasks – trimming goat hooves, playing with soft baby lambs, washing horses & goats, hunting for chickens eggs, and more good activities.  They had a blast and loved it!

I want to be accountable to you so the following are snip-its of some of the things I am thankful for this past week.

Counting My Blessings – Week In Review:

Monday –Thankful that the kids have the opportunity to go to Horse / Farm / Bible Study camp while Jake and I were working.  They loved it!  Also, it is conveniently located only a few minutes away from my work which is a great bonus too!

Tuesday – Thankful for Jake and his thoughtfulness.  He went out of his way to stop by the store and pick up some items as a surprise for me.  I had been missing an ingredient in my smoothie drink this week (he picked up the chocolate flavor for me as a surprise), he got a couple non-dairy Mac-N-Cheese mixes for Brina, and bath salts to help me loosen up and relax a little bit more.  Love it when he surprises me with special items that are perfect for that day, moment, or time.  I am richly blessed to have him as my partner.  Love this man dearly more and more all the time!!!  XOXOXO

Wednesday – Thankful for my acupuncture doctor.  My back and shoulder were really tender and they made time to see me today which was a huge help in loosening me back up.

Thursday – Thankful for my work and that they are willing to allow me to work around the girls camp schedule.  The kids have been coming into work with me in the morning, I have been stopping to take them to camp and returning to work until they are out of camp.  They have been a big help in getting little tasks done for me at work too.

Friday – Thankful for an opportunity to get some errands run and chores done at home so we can head into the weekend a little more prepared and ready.

Saturday – Thankful for my weekend with family.  We had a lot to get done with everything going on and a busy week ahead, but we worked together, had fun, and was able to get some items done that needed attention.

Sunday – Thankful our church, the message, and a place where our girls can learn and grow with other kids their age.

What are you thankful for today?  I encourage you to take the time to write down a few blessings that you have in your life today.  It will help cheer you up and turn your focus on the amazing blessings you encounter each day.

  • A Treat for My Errand Buddies

    Karlie's QT Treat

I LOVED having my girls home for the Christmas Holiday.  My only complaint is the time went by way too fast.  We had several days when we had to run errands.  On our last day of appointments and errands we ended with a special treat from QT.  The girls each got to pick out what they wanted from QuikTrip.  Karlie picked out a peppermint donut.  Brina picked out a hot peppermint vanilla cupcake drink.  They were very pleased with their special treats.

It has been so much fun running my errands with the girls.  We had a blast giggling, exploring, playing, random silly games, and activities throughout our adventures.  It won’t be nearly as exciting running around without my little buddies!

  • A Bagel, Hot Chocolate, & Sweet Friend

I am truly blessed with amazing people in my life!  Yesterday was a marathon day of running errands.  One of the stops was to meet a friend briefly to drop off some goodies for a local Christmas Party for foster kids.  Praying that those cute kids have an awesome party!

My sweet friend came bearing gifts, including hot chocolate and a bagel from Panera Bread!  Yum!  It was a cool rainy day and the hot chocolate was absolutely delicious.  I ended up running errands until it was time to pick up the girls so the bagel was a perfect lunch treat on the run.

We all have had those crazy days with full schedules and numerous projects to tackle when someone does thoughtful act that makes your day 110 times better.  Even though I know my friend, Ash, was extremely busy with everything she was tackling that day she was a huge beam of sunshine on a rainy day in mine.   Ashley’s thoughtfulness reminded me of the multiple blessings in my life and how important it is to take time to make those around me feel appreciated.  Thanks for the reminder sweet friend (and for the goodies)!
