Counting My Blessings: Week In Review
I have to admit some days were just exhausting this week. Thankful for a family that loves me even when I am wiped out and pitches in when/where they can. The girls are doing well in school. Jake and I were able to get away for a little bit together and we had fun at a work event this weekend too. There was a lot of good blessings that surprised me this week, but thankful for them all the same.
I want to be accountable to you so the following are snip-its of some of the things I am thankful for this past week.
Counting My Blessings – Week In Review:
Monday –Thankful that Jake drove the girls into school so I could leave for work and get my day started.
Tuesday – Thankful that the Hot Water Heater is NOW FIXED!!! After 2 weeks without a hot water heater you really do appreciate it! 🙂 I am grateful that it was the hot season when it decided to break down. The part was recalled so we had to wait for the company to order it before it could be repaired.
Wednesday – Thankful that for an opportunity to use my work skills and be part of a great team of professionals. Not everyday is perfect, but we are able to get a lot accomplished during our time at work and are continually learning from each other.
Thursday – Thankful for a chance to meet a friend and catch up over lunch!
Friday – Thankful that the girls had a fun game night with their church youth group and I got to go on a spontaneous DATE NIGHT with my Handsome Man!!!!!! 🙂 Love spending time with him!
Saturday – Thankful for a chance to hang out with my family and co-workers at the lake. Grateful to Jeff and his family for their gracious hosting of the whole group at their beautiful place!
Sunday – Thankful for some relaxing time with my family before we hit the super busy week ahead. It was good to recharge and hang out together!

Counting My Blessings: Week In Review
It was a crazy fun week as we spent fun time with friends visiting from Maine, the girls starting Middle School, and adjusting to the new work schedule. Thankful for the amazing blessings in my life. You don’t have to look very far or hard to find something to be grateful for in your life. It can be a simple smile from a stranger to sharing laughter with a friend or spending quality time with someone you love.
I want to be accountable to you so the following are snip-its of some of the things I am thankful for this past week.
Counting My Blessings – Week In Review:
Monday –Thankful day off work and spend the morning with our friends from Maine. In the afternoon I was able to hang out with the girls and have fun on their last day of summer.
Tuesday – Thankful that Jake went with me to take the girls to their first day of Middle School. Glad that their first day went smoothly for them.
Wednesday – Thankful that when Jake travels he takes the time to talk with me and catch up. It’s not the same as having him at home, but it is always great hearing his voice and chatting about our days.
Thursday – Thankful picked up the girls right when school got out and went “clothes” shopping for new school shorts. Grateful they are growing, but it doesn’t take long for them to grown out of their shorts.
Friday – Thankful for safety as we traveled, it was rainy and was slowed down multiple times by car accidents, but everyone arrived back home safely.
Saturday – Thankful for a quiet and productive day at home and around town with the family (first Saturday in a long time that we were not traveling or running around with a lot of activities going on).
Sunday – Thankful for a husband who enjoys and is a great cook. Love it when he pitches in around the kitchen and house. I am one spoiled chick with him around.

- A friend is one who will always be beside you, through all the laughter, and through each and every tear.

- A friend is a feeling of forever in the heart.

There are certain qualities in friends that truly stand out more than others. Some of those characteristics are hard to find while others are more common. What type of friend are you to others? Do you stand out and have all or at least some of these characteristics above?
We are not called to be perfect every moment of each day, however, we should be reflecting qualities of positive characteristics in our lives. We should be walking life with others. Be real and sharing. Let’s make sure we are investing in developing good character in ourselves and lasting friendships in our lives.
As Much As People Refuse to Believe It …
Relationships: What Type of Friend Am I?
Sometimes we are lucky enough to meet a person who stands out among all other people as being extremely special who knows what we are thinking about. Who is happy for us at all times. Who is always there to talk. Who cares about us selflessly. Who is always truthful with us. Sometimes we are lucky enough to meet someone who is extremely wonderful and for me that person is you my dear friend. – Susan Polis Schutz
We’ve all heard the saying that “friends are worth their weight in gold”. Absolutely! I agree friends are priceless and a great blessing in our lives. There are people who have a multitude of friends while others have a handful of really close friends.
If you had only a few seconds to think of your list of friends. Who would stand out? Who would come to your mind first? We can easily point out who those true blue and deep friends are pretty quickly.
Are you this type of friend to others? Who have we taken the time to invest in lately? Do we stand out? Are we the person our friends call on when they are excited and want to celebrate or when they hit a rough patch?
Counting My Blessings: Week In Review
It was a busy week, but we had a lot of fun. The girls came into work with me first thing in the morning for a little bit. They helped unlock the doors, turn on lights, and get set up for the day before spending time working on their summer workbooks for some time before I took them into camp. They did a Music & Technology camp in the morning and a Rube Goldberg creative experiments in the afternoon. It was super neat seeing what cool creations they developed over the course of the week.

Relationships: Reflecting on Memories
- Across the fields the summer sun
- Is shining, and the breeze
- Flows gently through the trees
- Like waves upon the summer seas.
- The wild flowers all along the fence
- Are dancing in the sun.
- The bees are buzzing through the fields. . .
- I’ll bet their work is fun.
- Look, there’s a path upon the hill;
- Please come and walk with m.
- For overtop the hill and down,
- A meadow we will see.
- For in the meadow there’s a brook
- That I once waded through,
- And in the meadow there are flowers
- Of every shade and hue.
- Come walk, with me along that brook
- And share this day with me.
- As carefree children once again
- We live in memory.
– Bonnie Gaunt
Our lives are sprinkled with a variety of memories. Some of those memories bring a smile to our face while others bring a tear of sadness to our eyes. Memories can come rushing back when one or more of our senses are spiked such as a familiar place, smell, or sound.
When we walk along a stream or visit a familiar area with a family member or friend we get a glance into the past. It’s important to take the time to remember those good times. Relax in a quiet walk with someone dear to us. Taking the time to laugh at the good times and great memories we have shared over the years. Life goes by quickly and no one is guaranteed another day, but we have today so let’s make the best of what we have with those we love.
