That way if my husband is already at the store he can see what we need and pick up items from that store without me making an extra trip, it’s really nice and convenient to use! It also comes in handy at the used book store to check to see if there are any books available that you have been looking for. So if you are looking for this type of program to help you get organized and save time this may be a great book to read!)

Love It – Village Naturals Foaming Bath
Jake and the girls gave me Village Naturals Therapy Foaming Bath Oil & Body Wash, Aches & Pains Relief with Eucalyptus, Rosehips, and Chamomile earlier this year for Mother’s Day. I love it! 🙂 I never thought I would get so excited over bath items, ha! It wasn’t long before the girls were begging to try it out.
Village Naturals Therapy Foaming Bath Oil & Body Wash gives you a lot of great long lasting bubbles. The girls are always asking to use this whenever they have a “long” bath because they love all the bubbles. One time they stayed in the bathtub for over an hour splashing around.
Our family has had a round or two of sickness since I received it. The Village Naturals Therapy Foaming Bath Oil & Body Wash works really well for when you have a cold and are congested. You can find it in a lot of stores, including Walmart, or online. The best part it is only a few dollars and it lasts a long time. You only need a couple drops to get a bath full of bubbles.
Even though the girls and I have used this many times we are still on our original bottle. If your looking for a great bubble bath or body wash that will be a big hit with the lady (or kids) in your life you should check this out. It is a great way to relax after a busy day!
“Love It” is a series of posts on items that I use regularly in my household that I love! There are some items in our daily lives that make life more enjoyable, efficient, or just plain fun. I will be sharing with you some of the products that have been given to us (or to me) that have made it to the top of my list. It’s my way of giving a huge thumbs up!
Love It – Cuisinart CPB-300 Compact Portable Blender & Chopper
My husband bought me a Cuisinart Blender a little over a year ago and I LOVE it! He got me a Cuisinart CPB-300 SmartPower 15-Piece Compact Portable Blending/Chopping System and it has been a huge hit with the whole family. The best part is it is compact and comes with four 16 ounce single smoothie cups as well as a bigger blender. I will often whip up a quick smoothie for myself for breakfast or a snack as I am walking out the door.
I have used this blender A LOT and it has held up very well (its still in great condition). Before this one I went through 2 KitchenAid Blenders which were much bigger and I didn’t use them nearly as often because it was harder to clean. I cannot say enough good things about this blender.
I have made a lot of different recipes with this Cuisinart. The fruit smoothies are my favorite! I have enjoyed experimenting with smoothies and have discovered how easy it is to make smoothies at home.
The girls will often request a smoothie for a special treat or snack too (so I am not the only one who loves the Cuisinart Blender). I have included some of our favorites smoothie recipes.

Left Center Right Dice Game
Our family loves to play games! The problem now that school, homework, and all the extra activities have started we do not have a lot of free time to squeeze in long games. One great game that doesn’t take a lot of time but is still fun for the whole family to play is Left Center Right Dice Game by Koplow Games. Left Center Right is fast-paced dice game with 3 cubes, the player rolls the dice and distributes their chips based on what the dice are showing (left, right, center, or keep). The last player with chips is the winner. The game is designed for 3 or more players.
Another positive is it helps teach younger kids the difference between right and left. It is easy to play even for younger kids and is a relatively short so we can play it after dinner. Since the game is small we have taken it with us to road trips to play as well. Sometimes just taking a few minutes to play together helps everyone relax after a busy day. What quick and easy games does your family like to play?
Book: “Super Red Racer” by Dave Ramsey
This is one of Dave Ramsey’s kids books that the girls enjoy – The Super Red Racer The story is about a boy named Junior who really wanted a red bicycle. He learned that by working hard for several weeks on a local farm rather than expecting his parents to just give it to him was a rewarding way to earn enough money to purchase the bike for himself. The story carries a great lesson for children about working hard, earning money and patience.
If you are trying to teach your children more about finances, including working hard to save so they can buy something big this is an excellent book. Our girls have both read and listened to this story several times over the past few months. It has helped encourage them to save more too!
Book: “Fix It Duck” by Jez Alborough
This is one of the books the girls have requested many times, it is called Fix It Duck by Jez Alborough (aka Mr Fix It Duck book in our household). The girls always get a real kick out of reading this book. Duck has a leak in his house and he goes to his friends to borrow something. When they mention a problem they are having he tries to “fix it” for them. Somehow when he tries to fix it he ends up making things worse instead of better for his friends. It is a fun story to read with your kids with great illustrations.
Book: “Starlight” by Kristin Earhart
The girls enjoy the book Starlight by Kristin Earhart. This book is about a little girl named Haley and her foal called Starlight. Haley did her best to train Starlight but it seems like Starlight was too busy having fun to listen until one night Starlight gets lost in the woods. Our girls really enjoy these books. They are great for the early readers especially if they like horses.
Book: “Am I Messing Up My Kids?” by Lysa TerKeurst
I recently finished reading the book Am I Messing Up My Kids? by Lysa TerKeurst. This is one of the books that I picked up a couple years ago at the eWomen’s conference in Greenville when I met Lysa TerKeurst in person and got the book autographed. The book has traveled many miles with me and got a little messed up when the van got totaled but thankfully was still readable as there were several topics Lysa discussed that my heart needed to hear.
The book discussed many of the feelings we as Mom experience. Lysa talked about focusing your heart on Christ and not on everything else, including our spouse or children. When your child makes a mistake it doesn’t mean your a horrible parent. She talked about how we often compare ourselves to the “super moms” that we see around us. At the end of each chapter there is a section called “Refresh My Soul” with scripture references to read regarding the topic that was being discussed and questions to help you dig deeper in the issues of our hearts.
Some of the topics discussed in the book:
- Being a Mom is Tough
- This is All I have to Give
- I Trust You to Fill In the Gaps
- This Child is Yours First
- Thank You for the Privilege of Being a Mom
Here are a couple quotes that I enjoyed:When you aren’t depending on your husband to fill you up, then he can make mistakes and you are still okay…..He can be your partner and your friend, because he does not have to be your Savior. When you are living in the fullness of Christ, your children are being sloshed with His grace and tenderness.
Book: “More Than Enough” by Dave Ramsey
On a recent trip I read the book More Than Enough by Dave Ramsey. I have read a couple other of Dave’s books and have enjoyed them. This book is geared more towards self improvement and motivation. Dave emphasizes the importance of being content and living an ethical life. While this book does discuss money it’s primary focus is how finances relates to your spouse, children, work and every other area of your life. The book makes us pause and reflect on our character, values, discipline, and how we interact with those around us. Some of the areas discussed:
- Discipline
- Goal Setting
- Values
- Accountability
- Patience
- Generosity (both time & resources)
Even though this book was a little different from Total Money Makeover I believe it contains some key components to having a successful life. Having all the money in the world isn’t much if we are not content or don’t have someone to share it with. As with anything we can find ourselves being too extreme when it comes to finances (too frugal or too loose with money). I like how he ties it all together and builds on the importance of family, goal setting, values, generosity, and finding contentment beyond our finances.
Also, included at the end of each chapter in this book are Thoughts from Sharon which is a paragraph or two from Dave’s wife and her insights regarding the topic that was discussed. In the appendix of the book there are several financial worksheets that you can use to help you get started with your finances.
