The girls did not have to go to school the Friday before Valentine’s Day which was really nice. My parents were also visiting us from Kansas that weekend. The first couple of days they stayed at my brother’s house and the last half of their stay at our house. It was great spending time with family over the Valentine weekend.

Happy Valentine’s Day Girls! They were greeted by the little treats left on their bar stools when they walked into the kitchen for breakfast!
Valentine’s Day is a great day to celebrate with the ones you love! We don’t usually do anything huge on Valentine’s Day, but we do try to take time to make it special for the kids as well as have some time together as a couple too. Spending time with the ones you love, showing, and telling them how much you love them shouldn’t only be done on Valentine’s Day!

Be My Valentine: I Will Always “Root” for You Handsome!
Every once in awhile I like to get a special treat for my man! It doesn’t have to be for any specific Holiday but this would be an easy way to say “I Love You” during the Valentine season. For this special treat I picked up a six pack of IBC Rootbeer for Jake and put a sticky note on it that says “I will always “root” for you Handsome!” I stuck the six pack with the note in the refrigerator, when Jake opens the door to get a drink he will find his cool treat. He appreciates the thoughtfulness and the treat reminds him that I love him. I am truly thankful for all he does for our family!

I was looking for a good song about “love” when I came across this one. Even though we have the opportunity to celebrate with the one on Valentine’s Day every year it is important to show appreciate and love towards our spouses throughout the year. Yes, some days are easier to express appreciation than others but if you intentionally do something thoughtful for your spouse everyday it will be a blessing not only to them but your marriage and family. Try doing something thoughtful specifically for your spouse every day for a week, month, or more and let me know how it goes for you!
