Travel & Vacation: Tubing on Lake Milford
5 kids + 1 tube = loads of fun on the water!
Tubing was a huge hit with the kids again this year. I think almost all the kids went on the tube at some point over the weekend. We had two of the exact same tube in two of the boats so if one boat was water skiing and knee boarding the other boat would be doing the tube or something else.
Brina on the tube with her two cousins Nate and Brandon.
Nate, Brandon and Sierra went a little faster on the tube!
They got some air under that one!
The expressions on their faces crack me up!
You can’t go as fast with 5 kids on the tube, but they still had a grand time!
All smiles! Who knows what they were laughing about this time around!
Waving at the water skiers and knee boarders from the other boat!
Ready for a wild ride?! Bracing themselves for the next bump!
Smiling as they zip around the lake!
Always a couple of dare devils in every crowd!
Lunch time! Sandwiches and grapes on the tube (makes a good picnic table)!
Karlie and Brandon hanging out on the tube!
Travel & Vacation: Boating and Fishing on Milford Lake
Uncle Trace & Aunt Michelle fishing! Look at the flying fish in the upper right of the picture!
We had a blast with family at Milford Lake this summer. During the day there were a lot of different activities going on at the same time so everyone could have fun doing something they enjoyed from swimming, fishing, tubing, water skiing, knee boarding, and more fun. Uncle Trace was our expert fisherman that weekend!

Karlie on the boat at least briefly, she didn’t stay on the boat very long!

Travel & Vacation: Family Fun at Milford Lake
Having a blast with Nicko’s new bubble toy!
We started and ended our days at Milford Lake in our cabin at Acorn Resorts. All of my immediate family stayed in one cabin and several other family members were in cabins around us. We didn’t always see everyone in the morning, but everyone met back at our cabin for dinner together every night. During the day you would see a lot of family members swimming, on the boats, and doing various activities. We celebrated my nephews birthday the night before, but we saved the gifts to open in the morning. He was very excited!

Nicko’s LED Lighted Birthday balloons!!! The LED balloons are always a hit with the kids. We have had great luck with the illooms brand of LED Balloons lasting much longer than the package states. You can find a variety of styles at Walmart or online!
The girls made some cool glow stick designs to hang over their beds at night!

Travel & Vacation: Traveling to Kansas, Jesse James Bank Museum, and Milford Lake
On board and ready for take off!
One of the reasons our family travels is because our extended family is so spread out. This summer we headed out to Kansas to spend time with my family. We got on the plane early Thursday morning in Greenville, SC and by mid-morning we were in Kansas City ready to go.
We had a layover in Chicago! The kids found it very entertaining to go on the walking sidewalks in the airport. We didn’t get a chance to visit the actually city of Chicago, but it was good to get out and stretch our legs in the airport for a little bit between flights. The advantage to the really early flights is the airport is not as crowded!
Karlie found a great way to pass the time during our layover….reading! She was so excited to found out that I had added a bunch of free kids books onto my Kindle! She is frequently found around the house with her nose in a good book too so this did not come as a surprise.
Brina found a good amazing animal website to check out too.
After landing in Kansas City and getting our rental car we were off to explore the area. Our first stop was Wendy’s for an early lunch (we had been up since 4 am). The second stop was the Jesse James Bank Museum in Liberty, Missouri. Not far from the Kansas City MCI airport.
Karlie was surprised at the weight of the bank bag! Wow!
Learning about the Jesse James bank robbery. Banks are very different now!
Walking around the historical district of downtown Liberty!
Brina walking along the edge of the water fountain!
Riding with their cousin Nicko on the tube!
Their faces crack me up!
Having a blast tubing on Lake Milford with family!
So much fun!
Go faster Grandpa!
They even let me go on the tube with them! Fun times with family in Kansas!
