Book: “If You Take a Mouse to School” by Laura Numeroff
In celebration of the girls being in school for a few weeks now I decided to highlight a book that is about school. The girls really enjoy Laura Numeroff’s book and one of their favorites is If You Take a Mouse to School. It is a fun and engaging book about a mouse going to school. The girls think it would be so neat to take a mouse (or any pet for that matter) to school with them. We have read this book and several other ones by Laura Numeroff many times. It is a great book for beginning readers.
Here are a few of Laura Numeroff’s popular “If You Give…” books that are a hit in our family:
Book: “Journey to the Center of the Earth” by Jules Verne
Daddy just finished reading “Journey To The Center Of The Earth” by Jules Verne to our girls. It is part of the “Treasury of Illustrated Classics” book series we have been picking up for the girls. The story is about Professor Hardwigg and his nephew Harry who discover an ancient parchment and explore the world together. Professor and Harry encounter many adventures during their travels including a volcano and ocean sea life. The book encourages the child’s imagination. Karlie especially thought the book was amazing. She is into rockets, planets, space and traveling so the title of the book intrigued her from the beginning. Both girls enjoyed the book and always love it when Daddy reads “chapter” books to them. If you are looking for an adventure book to read to your kids check this one out.
Book: “The Little Engine That Could” by Watty Piper
One of my favorite books growing up was the The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper. The book has become one the girls love reading too. It is a great book about a little train that had a positive attitude with a variety of fun animal and toy characters the kids enjoy. If you are looking for a nice book for young kids this is a great addition to their library.
