Travel & Vacation: Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort (Orlando, FL)
Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort
Our “Home Away from Home” during our stay in Orlando was at the Walt Disney Swan & Dolphin Resort. We didn’t spend a large amount of time actually in our room, although it was nice to crash some place comfortable every night after a busy day of exploring. Our room (I think each room had the same) had a mini-refrigerator and plenty of space to put food and snacks.
We did all our breakfasts and dinners (except one) in our hotel room. For our lunches we packed sandwiches to take with us in our backpacks so we wouldn’t have to stop and eat. I shared a few tidbits about earlier resort and the neat pools they have on the resort. The only thing that really bothered the girls about the resort was that the fish on the signs and around the hotel did not actually look like a dolphin (something they pointed out to me on multiple occasions). They still loved it though!
Fun jungle gym. Great place to vent out any extra energy the kids may have had.
The ducks were very friendly. We were walking on the sidewalk when this duck decided to take a stroll with us.
Waiting with smiles for the bus to arrive. Sometimes we didn’t wait very long and other days it took longer before the bus arrived.
I had fun hanging out with the girls while Jake was in his conference!
Wild crew. Not sure how the girls sustained all their energy throughout the days and late into the evenings. We had a blast!
The girls were standing in the walkway for our hotel. It was really beautiful at night.
Our Mickey and Minnie Mouse in front of the fountain after a very long day at the park.
Our balcony overlooked this walkway outside of our hotel.
It was mesmerizing watching all the lights change colors.
It was very relaxing to sit out on the balcony at night, listen to the music from below, and watch the different lights fade in and out.
Pretty trees….
Several nights the kids would eat there dinner on the balcony so they could watch the lights.
You could even smell some of the great food from the restaurants nearby as you relaxed on the balcony.
I don’t know if it was the pretty lights, music, smell of good food, or the fact we were sitting down after walking around all day, but we spent a good bit of time hanging out on our balcony every night as everyone relaxed for the evening and got showers done before hitting the bed.
Goodbye Orlando….until next time! We had a great trip! Many fun activities happened and memories were made. Now it’s time to head on home!
Travel & Vacation: Walt Disney World Epcot (Orlando, FL)
Spending the day at Epcot
Thankful for a chance to spend time with the family at Disney’s Epcot. It was so much fun. The kids kept up remarkably well and had great attitudes the entire busy day. I am grateful for kids who love to learn and explore new places. They just soaked in all the neat stuff going on at Epcot in. The second day was not as hot which was nice too.
They got me to go on Mission Space again. This time we went on the Orange ride which is more intense. Let’s just say I was looking a little green after this ride, thankfully this picture was taken before take off.
Jake and Brina cruising along
Image Works was a cool place to explore
Playing music at Image Works
Our own little Mickey Mouse. Karlie wanted the black hat and ears.
Our own little Minnie Mouse. Brina wanted the headband with a red and white Minnie Mouse bow.
Walking with Dad, so exciting!
Sweet girls.
All smiles
Pausing graciously to let me take a picture even though she’s worried about missing something!
Brina Bee
On the move
Taking in all the cool sights around her
We found a place that engraved names onto leather bracelets.
The girls have unique names which makes it impossible to find items with their names on it so we got these for them as a souvenir. They were fascinated watching the worker do the engraving and proud of their bracelets.
Travel & Vacation: Disney Epcot’s Countries Around the World (Orlando, FL)
Hanging out together at Epcot
The kids loved learning about the various countries in Epcot’s World Showcase. We got to see many shows, talk with a lot of people, learn about the countries, visit the Kid’s Epcot sections and more. We were not able to get a lot of pictures from the actual shows because several of them do not allow photography during the presentation.
At the China World Showcase we got to watch the Dragon Legend Acrobats! It was fascinating. They did some awesome jumps and tricks over basically a thin carpet pad and cement.
She flipped up into this chair which is being held by one of the guys on their team.
Neat formation
The flying jumps were awesome, even if they made me a little nervous
A stunning performance!
The girls loved talking with all the people at the Kidcot stations at every country. They had their passports stamped and signed in all the different languages around the showcase.
Hanging out with Daddy
Beautiful tower lit up at the Morocco World Showcase
Hanging out in Morocco
On our way to visit Canada
Beautiful gardens in the Canada World Showcase
Canadian Lumberjack Show takes place on the Mill Stage. It was a neat competition including axe throwing, log rolling, sawing, and more.
The red and blue team competing on a log in the water.
Giving the kids in the crowd “high fives”!
Those on the front row did get a little wet from this competition, but the girls thought it was awesome
It was a neat show to watch. The kids were able to get up front and see everything which was cool.
Travel & Vacation: Visiting Disney’s Epcot (Orlando, FL)
My sweet princess!
We saved Epcot to explore last since it was one that Jake wanted to go with us. It was so much fun riding all the rides, exploring the various countries, watching the shows and so much more. We had a blast, so much fun in fact that we decided that on our last day we wanted to go back to Epcot for one more day. Thankful for a great time packed full of wonderful memories with my family.

We’re ready for the show!
The Space section was a hit especially with Karlie!
Our first Mission Space ride. They generously chose to do the “green” (aka easy level) first since I get sick on some rides. Thankfully we all survived!
Delicious snack at one of the bakeries! We split this heart shaped waffle with tasty jam inside.
Stopping for a minute to rest while we check out the map for the next place we want to go.
We’re ready and thankful for a moment to relax!
The kids did amazing with their camel backs. Not once they complain or get dehydrated or hungry (although we did have more potty breaks).
Biotechnology Lab at Epcot. It looks really neat and you see all kinds of cool produce being grown that will be used in various Disney restaurants. The only odd about this ride is the second time we road it there were animal (dog shape) paw prints in the sand (not sure where those came from).
Turtle Talk with Crush – super cute and very interactive with the audience!
Living Seas Hydrolators and Seacab
Ride Looks like the shark at a couple kids!
Karlie is loving her time at Epcot
Travel & Vacation: Epcot’s Gardens (Orlando, FL)
Our wild crew at Epcot!
Our family had a blast exploring Walt Disney World’s Epcot park. It was a lot of fun seeing all the beautiful sculptures made out of greenery all over the park. Many Disney characters were represented in the gardens. It was the kids first time visiting Epcot. They loved it so much we chose to do it 2 days instead of just one. Thankful for the opportunity to spend time with my family while seeing these amazing creations.
Lady and the Trump
Mickey Mouse instead a garden of flowers.
Beautiful flower gardens at Epcot. This was taken while passing through on the monorail.
Snow White

Pausing for a moment! These were my two favorite characters from Beauty and the Beast
My sweet girl.
They did an amazing job making these garden sculptures come to life!
Monorail, flower gardens, and lake.

Brina liked the Frozen garden!
Karlie, of course, liked the Buzz Lightyear

Beautiful garden across the water from where the boat drops you off at Epcot
Travel & Vacation: Main Street Electrical Parade & Fireworks at Disney’s Magic Kingdom (Orlando, FL)
After dark at Magic Kingdom they do a Main Street Electrical Parade and Fireworks every night. You will need to check the schedule for the days you want to go, but it is pretty consistent most weeks. The electric lights parade was awesome. Even though we squeezed in all the rides we could before the parade the kids were still able to get front row seats for the parade (thankfully it was less crowded when we went). The parade was fascinating, the girls loved it.
A little bit after the parade was done we found a spot to sit down and watch the lights, music, and fireworks next to the castle at Magic Kingdom. It was beautiful. We ended up sitting right in front of the castle and had a great view! The kids really enjoyed it. After the fireworks we decided to go do a few more rides which we walked right onto since the majority of people were leaving at that time. It was a great day at Magic Kingdom. We had a few hiccups with a couple rides and shows, but everyone took it in stride and we had an amazing time together.
Fascinating
Bald eagle, flag, and fireworks!
Colorful castle!
Beautiful castle, lots of colors, music and fireworks who could ask for anything more!
Blue castle and fireworks! I lost count of the number of times the castle changed colors and the number of different songs they played during the show.
Red, white, and blue – The castle is dark blue with white stars (a little hard to see in this picture) and the fireworks were a bright red. Gorgeous!!!
Turquoise blue
Pretty pink
The kids loved it
A great ending to a wonderful show
Travel & Vacation: It’s a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise at Disney’s Magic Kingdom (Orlando, FL)
Brina and Jake riding on the boat through It’s a Small World
The lines weren’t too long so we were able to get onto several rides, however, we had a couple hiccups with some as well. The kids liked It’s a Small World so much that we did it 2 times. The Pirates of the Caribbean was a little bit of a disappointment because we stood in line for an hour and were 10 people from the front of the line when it broke down so we didn’t get to go on it. It took us another 30 minutes to get back out because we had to wait for all the people behind us leave. The girls did well and had a great attitude despite the long wait time. The Jungle Cruise was a fun boat ride with lots of neat sights along the way. The kids really enjoyed it.
Smiling and soaking in all the sights at It’s a Small World
It’s a Small World banner as you go in
Fascinating!
Always something to look at on the boat ride
Still smiling while waiting in the long line for the Pirates of the Caribbean
Catching up and chatting while in line
Yay, found a place to sit while waiting
Going on the Jungle Cruise
All smiles on the Jungle Cruise
Beautiful waterfall
They loved looking at all the animals and sights on the Jungle Cruise
So much fun!
Travel & Vacation: Tomorrowland Transit, Monsters Laugh Floor, Prince Charming Carrousel at Disney’s Magic Kingdom (Orlando, FL)
Brina relaxing for a few minutes on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
The girls never stopped moving all day while at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. The only time we paused was standing in line, on the rides or at the shows. We did have a few bathroom breaks since the girls were drinking about 50 ounces plus throughout the day from their camel backs. The camel backpacks have been a life saver or should I say back saver.
Each person carries their own food and drink. The kids never have to ask for a drink or something to eat they can reach in and get their drink, sandwich, snacks, etc… Of course hand sanitizer is on every backpack to for all the germs we encounter while we are out and about. The had no problem carrying the backpacks and you’ll see them wearing them in almost every picture.
The kids have really enjoyed having the freedom to eat and drink whenever they need to. Usually when we are standing in line for a few minutes I would remind them that it was a good idea to grab a sip and something to drink. Although by mid-week I no longer needed to remind them; they did it on their own. Usually if someone had a snack out it would prompt the rest to get something as well. This helped a huge amount with preventing dehydration and hungry plus we never had to stop and get something to eat we just kept on going from sunup to sun down. We wanted to squeeze every last minute of fun out of our trip.
Karlie soaking in all the cool activities and figuring out where she wants to go next.
Karlie was not sure about the transit when it went into the pitch black, she ducked and said, “What’s going to happen now!?”
One last ride on the Transit after a very long, but super fun day at Magic Kingdom. We were there at opening and until closing. And yes, we are still smiling.
Having a good laugh at the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy
Club So funny!
The first time we went to the show it froze in the middle of the show so they had to let everyone out and gave us free fast passes for almost any ride at Magic Kingdom. The girls were disappointed, but the fast passes helped us get onto Peter Pan much quicker.
Smiling contently as they ride the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
They LOVE anything pertaining to horses and this ride was relaxing too with a short wait.
Karlie riding hands free
She cracks me up…it takes skill to ride hands free on a moving horse
That was fun!
Travel & Vacation: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, Enchanted Tales with Belle, and Astro Orbiter at Disney’s Magic Kingdom (Orlando, FL)
Being silly in line for the Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little
Mermaid Ride Thankfully the lines were pretty mild most of the morning at Magic Kingdom. We got onto the Ariel’s Little Mermaid ride fairly quickly, however, we did stop to snap a few pictures. We had a great time at Magic Kingdom going from one activity to the next. The girls were troopers and did awesome not only in line, but walking everywhere. It is nice at their age they can do almost everything too!
Waterfall outside Little Mermaid
Entertainment while in line!
On the ride
On our way to see Belle
Karlie with Belle at the Enchanted Tales with Belle
Brina with Belle at the Enchanted Tales with Belle
Brina getting a bookmark from Belle!
It was a bright sunny day, somehow this is the only picture I got of the girls in front of the castle (a quick shot on our way to another ride).
My co-pilot on the Astro Orbiter
Karlie went by herself on the Astro Orbiter. She was very excited to fly!
Karlie giving me the thumbs up. Let’s just say this was not my favorite ride at Magic Kingdom. I get dizzy and nausea on a lot of spinning rides. This one was one of those rides. Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as some rides (like the spinning teacups…oh, boy).
Yes, that is Karlie way above Brina and I. I am not entirely sure we ever left the ground, but Karlie was having a grand time!
Travel & Vacation: Swan & Dolphin Resort Pools (Orlando, FL)
Beautiful view and we almost had the pool to ourselves!
During our time at the Swan & Dolphin Resorts the kids had to check out their pools. Yes, they have several pools and a playground. We had a blast swimming and splashing around in their pools on the hottest day. The girls can spend hours swimming around.
Brina floating around!
Karlie having fun!
Being goofy under the water!
How long can you hold your breathe
Brina coming down the slide next to one of the pools.
That was fun, let’s do it again!
Karlie ready to go
Karlie moving right along!
I barely got a shot of her coming around the corner! They loved the slide!
A pool with a waterfall. How awesome is that!?
Hanging out by the waterfall.
This pool was much quieter, but one of their favorites because it was easier to dive for items since it was less crowded. That’s our hotel in the back ground.
Swimming around
Brina loves her goggles and her eyes don’t get nearly are red from the chlorine.
Taking a break to chat
Stopping for a few minutes to relax.
