• Intentional Living: Weekly Goals

    We had a BLAST last week spending some extra time with Jake’s cousins kids.  They were great kids and we had fun reading, playing, and exploring together.  It was neat having a 1 year and 2 year in the house in addition to 2 – eight year olds! 🙂    Hoping to get caught up on a lot of projects this week!

    Last week’s goals

    Family Goals

    1. Read Imagination Station: Peril in the Palace by Marianne Hering and Paul McCusker (Book 3) finished reading and started on the next one! 🙂  I love that the chapters are short so it is easy to read one right before devotions and bed.
    2. Plan one special Activity with the Family
    3. Play a board game – played a couple little kids games (the favorite this week with the younger ones was “Don’t Break the Ice”)
    4. Lunch Boxes & Book Bags packed the night before – we had a couple field trips, special events, and a busy schedule with little ones running around this week so we didn’t get our lunches packed every night this week
    5. Daily School Activities & Homework Completed
    6. Attend After School Activities
    7. Take care of, play, and enjoy extra time with the little ones staying with us this week – it was a lot of FUN!!! 🙂 

    Personal Goals

    1. Exercise at least 5 days this week – Ummm…..I didn’t do my official exercises (does it count lifting little ones all week)?
    2. Drink 8 glasses of water each day – was pretty busy and notice I got behind on my water a couple days last week
    3. Continue my YouVersion plan(s) – hoping to catch up this week
    4. Finish reading One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp – was catching up on a book that I needed to read for an upcoming meeting
    5. Finish reading Overcoming Dyslexia by M.D. Sally Shaywitz (someone gave me this to read) – made a little progress in the evenings but not as much as I hoped

    4. Work on Spring Cleaning – it was put on hold with the little ones here last week

    1. Work on ideas for upcoming blog posts – by the time the kids were in bed, house picked up and prepped for the  next day I didn’t get a lot of creative blogging done this past week (hoping to catch up this week though)

    I think it is important to share and encourage each other as we seek to improve our lives and the lives of those around us.  I want to live intentionally not just hope all my dreams and goals come true.  When I focus on small steps of improvement I am able to see results as I get closer to my goals.  Some weeks I get closer to the goals I have in my life and other weeks a take a few steps back (life happens, emergencies occur, people get sick).  Once the goals are written down and shared it provides a guideline for what I aim to accomplish this week.

    • To keep me accountable
    • To share a piece of my life with you as I strive to be a better Child of God, Wife, Mom, Friend, Homemaker, Entrepreneur and the many other roles I have each week

    We had a wonderful Spring Break with the girls.  Last week Jake had to work for a few days in the Charleston so we went with him.  It was nice to hang out together with family and create new memories.  This week we are back to the normal schedule with school back in full swing.

    3. Ride bikes / scooters / skates / roller blades with the family – rode at home and took our bikes & skates to Charleston to ride as well
    4. Go on a picnic with the kids – had a picnic with the girls at the Easter Egg Hunt & while in Charleston
    5. Play in the park together played several parks in Charleston with the girls
    6. Visit a Museumwent to the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry and the Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon
    7. Plan one special Activity with the Familyspent time together in Charleston doing special activities including the Cooper River Bridge Kids Run on Friday!
    8. Go on a family walktook walk through Battery Park

    Last week was the typical hurricane of activities from work, volunteering, tutoring, car searching, and more.  It was really nice to have Jake in town for the entire week, glad he didn’t have to travel.  The girls are looking forward to Easter and their upcoming Spring Break!

    I think it is important to share and encourage each other as we seek to improve our lives and the lives of those around us.  I want to live intentionally not just hope all my dreams and goals come true.  When I focus on small steps of improvement I am able to see results as I get closer to my goals.  Some weeks I get closer to the goals I have in my life and other weeks a take a few steps back (life happens, emergencies occur, people get sick).  Once the goals are written down and shared it provides a guideline for what I aim to accomplish this week.

    Why Share My Goals?

    • To keep me accountable
    • To share a piece of my life with you as I strive to be a better Child of God, Wife, Mom, Friend, Homemaker, Entrepreneur and the many other roles I have each week
    • To have my goals consistently written down so I can gauge progress more accurately
    • Create healthy habits in my life
    • To encourage you to share your goals with me as you continue to grown and learn

  • Intentional Living: Weekly Goals

    Last week was crazy with Jake being out of town part of the week and having a sick little one complaining of right side and shoulder pain which resulted in us going to the pediatrician followed by a visit to the hospital for an ultrasound to see if something was wrong with her appendix.  The actual ultrasound itself took over an hour with two different people trying to get a good picture of her appendix.  They never did get a good picture, but they didn’t see anything abnormal either.  Thankfully she is starting to feel better now.  I am really ready for the warmer weather and praying for healthier weeks ahead!  Despite all the busyness I was able to get some items done this week.

For my February Grocery Budget I am replacing my typical Groceries $40 for 4 with my Life Simplified: No Grocery Shopping in order to use up some extra items in my fridge, freezer, and pantry. – I finished up over 7 weeks of No Grocery shopping, we are starting to low on a few items so I will need to make a grocery run soon

    Last week we spent some time in Vermont with Jake’s family.  The girls had a blast building a fort, sledding in the snow, playing games, doing puzzles and many more fun activities during our time up North.  Now that we are back home again hopefully we’ll get back into the normal schedule soon.

  • Intentional Living: Weekly Goals

    Last week I was finally feeling better so I was able to get caught up on a few items.  Thankful for some time together with my family while we were all healthy and back to the normal schedule.  We celebrated Valentine’s Day by flying up north to Vermont visit Jake’s Mom and grandparents.  The girls were super excited to play in some snow!
