• Intentional Living: Weekly Goals

It has been wonderful having extra time with the girls since their out of school for the Holidays!!!!  With the New Year Holiday this week I have a few more days with the kids before school starts back up.  I am taking the time to really focus on spending extra time with my family this week.

Although it will be quieter this week on the blog I wanted to share my top 5 goals:

    • Bring in the 2013 New Year – Celebrating with Family and Friends
    • Spend some one-on-one time with my man
    • Spend Quality time with the girls
    • Daughter’s Surgery
    • Go over our goals for 2013

While my goals are still important and I will be doing a lot of them throughout the week my highest priority is my family.   January is filling up FAST, but I am super excited about some upcoming adventures!!! 🙂  I will be back to my regular goal updates  and posts soon.

I think it is important to share and encourage each other as we seek to improve our lives and the lives of those around us.  I want to live intentionally not just hope all my dreams and goals come true.  When I focus on small steps of improvement I am able to see results as I get closer to my goals.  Some weeks I get closer to the goals I have in my life and other weeks a take a few steps back (life happens, emergencies occur, people get sick).  Once the goals are written down and shared it provides a guideline for what I aim to accomplish this week.

    Why Share My Goals?

    • To keep me accountable
    • To share a piece of my life with you as I strive to be a better Child of God, Wife, Mom, Friend, Homemaker, Entrepreneur and the many other roles I have each week
    • To have my goals consistently written down so I can gauge progress more accurately
    • Create healthy habits in my life
    • To encourage you to share your goals with me as you continue to grown and learn

How did you do this week on your goals?  Feel free to share or link to your list of weekly goals.

  • Intentional Living: Weekly Goals

So thankful for my family.  We decided to celebrate our Christmas over the weekend since Jake had off and could spend more time with us.  He did get a few calls, emails, but the girls were great and were willing to take a break to play, read a book, or help make a snack whenever he had to get away for a few minutes.  Thankfully he was able to do everything he needed from home and didn’t have to go into the office.

With the girls being out of school and the Christmas Holiday this week I am taking the time to really focus on spending time with my family.  While my goals are still important and I will be doing a lot of them throughout the week my highest priority is my family.  I love having the kids out of school so we can do more together.   It is really important that I give the kids (and husband) my attention and create memories so it will be quieter this week on the blog.  I will be back to my regular goal updates  and posts soon!

  • Intentional Living: Weekly Goals

On the back of my office door this SMART sign is hanging.  Some days when I look at it am encouraged while others I have to sigh because while I am continuing to make steps in the right direction there are those weeks that it feels like I am moving at a snails pace (or slower).  Maybe this is the week I can get caught up on some items!  Thankfully Jake is back home from his work travels and everyone seems to be healthy so that’s always good.  I am looking forward to the girls getting off school later this week for the Christmas Holidays!

Oh, I am so not a fan of being sick.  The whole family went to the doctor last week because we were all not feeling well and had temps from 101 to 104.  Somehow we had managed to get strep throat and a couple ear infections.  Thankfully we all seem to be on the mend.  I am hoping that this is our last round of sickness for a long time.  Maybe this week I can get caught up on some items!

Okay, so last week wasn’t one of my best ones.  Had to make my first trip in years to the doctor because I was sick. Who is This Book For?

Celebrating & Savoring A Simple Christmas is for you if:

    • You end every Christmas season frazzled, with a cold, and in need of a nap.
    • You dread the day after Thanksgiving and every day following up and until New Year’s Day.
    • You want your house to look beautiful for Christmas, but instead it’s a mess!
    • You end up overwhelming yourself by spending too much time on Christmas crafting and baking

    Why I love this book:

I LOVE the Christmas Holidays and celebrating with my family!  Somehow with the busy activities, shopping, gift wrapping, delivering, programs, and everything else the “to do” list gets longer and before long I am exhausted.  Not to mention some years our budget has been stretched a little bit too much.  I like that Crystal encourages people to kept it simple and stay within your family budget.

After reading Celebrating & Savoring A Simple Christmas I think it will help inspire you to make positive steps in the direction of a Simple Christmas as well.  My husband and I have already discussed our Christmas budget (and sticking to it) and several other items already.  I am looking forward to spending some time together to go over more of the topics I read about in Crystal’s book.  I know many of you will enjoy this ebook and find it to be a wonderful resource especially with the upcoming Christmas season!   Here’s just a few topics covered in this book:

    • How to organize your Christmas list
    • How to make & stick to a Christmas budget
    • Holiday freezer cooking
    • Simple and inexpensive homemade gifts
    • How to get and keep your home clean & organized
    • Printable worksheets for your Holiday planning
    • And Many More great tips to help you have a fun Christmas Holiday with your family.

  • Intentional Living: Weekly Goals

Last week did….not…go…as planned (ever have weeks that go like that, ha)?!  Jake was in Charleston for work, one of the girls got really sick, Skipper was barking all the time (even in the middle of the night), unexpected activities, time spent in the Urgent Care, last minute stuff, doctor visits and more in between all the normal weekly activities so many of the items on my list this week are still leftover from last week.  Hopefully this week will (go as planned or at least some what “normal”) and I will be able to tackle more items on my list!

    Last week’s goals:

    Family Goals

    4. Attend After School Activities
    5. Plan one special Activity with the Family
    6. Spend extra time with the Girls since they have a couple days off school

    Personal Goals

    1. Exercise at least 5 days this week – with a couple nights without sleep with a sick little one and a barking dog this wasn’t my top priority
