Flashback Friday: 4 Months Old
Brina and Karlie at 4 months old
Today were are flashing back to when the girls were only 4 months old. They were starting to move a lot more and explore at this age. It was amazing how much they changed from month to month. Looking back it is neat to see that their individual personalities were starting to come through even at four months old! Although, they have changed a little since this stage!
Counting My Blessings: Week In Review

The kids wrapped up their last week of school. We got to attend their awards ceremony where both received a bunch of awards. They finished 4th grade very well. I am super excited to have more time with them over their summer break. We have so much fun planned for this week. I am blessed. There was so much to be thankful for last week.
I want to be accountable to you so the following are snip-its of some of the things I am thankful for this past week. Counting My Blessings – Week In Review:
Monday – Thankful for the opportunity to teach the girls about various household chores. One of the chores they are mastering this summer is laundry. While they may be slower or have things folded differently they are making progress and getting better already.
Tuesday – Thankful for all the hard work the girls put into their 4th grade school year. We got to attend their 4th Grade Awards Ceremony and they blew us away with all the awards they received this year!
Wednesday – Thankful for Jake and the little surprises he brings home to me whether it is a flower, treat, or something that needs to be fixed around the house. This week he brought home outlets for the kitchen and changed out the outlet and light switch near the sink. Glad he is able to do so much around the house and yard. He is working on a big, but fun project for the girls right now too which I will share with you soon! Love him so much!
Thursday – Thankful that the girls only had a half day of school today. They were a big help doing grocery errands and putting away all the groceries once we were home.
Friday – Thankful that today was the girls last day of 4th grade and they are now on SUMMER BREAK!!!! So excited to spend extra time with my kids. They did fantastic in 4th grade and both are now officially 5th graders! Wow, time flies by quickly!
What are you thankful for today? I encourage you to take the time to write down a few blessings that you have in your life today. It will help cheer you up and turn your focus on the amazing blessings you encounter each day!
School: Brina & Karlie’s 4th Grade Awards Ceremony!
Proud of my girls!
Brina and Karlie had their 4th grade Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, June 2nd. Jake and I knew the girls did really well this year and worked very hard, but we were still blown away by the amount of awards they received. I honestly don’t think Jake was in his chair for more than 5 minutes throughout the entire Awards Ceremony (seriously). Every time he sat down one or both of the girls names would be announced to receive another award. The grandpa sitting next to me said “Wow, you most be doing something right with those kids. They are very talented!” Both girls did worked hard all year even when it wasn’t always easy so it is something exciting to celebrate with them!
They both had great teachers this school year. The teachers encouraged them to learn a lot! Their Homeroom Teachers, Gifted & Talented Teacher, Reading Teacher, and STEM Club Coaches were all good about communicating with the parents which is always key in helping the kids be successful. Thankful for all the teachers and all energy they put into our kids this school year.
We are VERY PROUD of the hard work these girls did and the amount they were able to accomplish throughout the 4th grade year! The girls have the biggest class in the school so it is a huge honor to get these awards. Their classes are large and it takes a lot of work to get these honors. Way to go girls!!!
Karlie and Brina received 13 Award Certificates + 10 Award Medals + 2 Award Pins:

It is evident that they can do a lot and learned a great deal this school year. They finished strong. It is still hard to believe that this is their last day of 4th grade, they are growing up too quickly.
We are looking forward to a fun summer full of learning, memories, and catching up with family and friends! It is our hope that they continue to enjoy learning and growing as they get older. Thankful for our girls. We are very blessed! LOVE YOU BRINA AND KARLIE!!!
Flashback Friday: First Trip to Vermont
Whole group in VT that weekend!
Today’s Flashback is to 10 years ago when we took the girls for the first time to Vermont to visit Jake’s side of the family. They had a family reunion in Vermont at Jake’s grandparents house. All the cousins and their families were able to make it along with Aunt Cindy, Uncle Jim, and of course Jake’s grandparents where the reunion was held.
Several families had little ones at the time which made it interesting with all the diapers, bottles, swings, and other baby items, but we had a great time together. The girls were just over 3 months old and it was their second airplane experience. It was a super busy weekend packed full of lots of little kids, laughter, games, great food, fun, and memories.
Thankful for a weekend to spend with most of Jake’s family. It was good to catch up with everyone. Not sure if the kids or parents were more exhausted by the end of the weekend.
Nana and PopPop with all the Great Grandkids at the time. It was quite an active group – Caleb, Gabe, Rachel, Erica, Jack, Noah, Michael, Aidan Brina, Karlie, and Noelle.

Counting My Blessings: Week In Review

The week went by quickly. It was full and busy. Even though we had a shorter work and school week because of Memorial Day we still packed in a lot the remainder of the week. I am blessed. There was so much to be thankful for last week.
I want to be accountable to you so the following are snip-its of some of the things I am thankful for this past week. Counting My Blessings – Week In Review:
Monday – Thankful for extra time with my family and a chance to celebrate Memorial Day together.
Tuesday – Thankful for an opportunity to go to the library with the girls and pick out some books to read this summer.
Wednesday – Thankful for a husband who still surprises me and shows me that he loves me. I found a “love note” on my night stand from him while he was away on a work trip.
Thursday – Thankful for friendships and a chance to catch up over lunch. It is nice having people in your life that will speak the truth, allow you to talk about what’s
Friday – Thankful for an opportunity to spend some time at the girls school and watch them compete in their Field Day. Grateful to have Jake back home again and some time together relaxing, playing games, and hanging out with family.

We made it through the last full week of school. Only two more partial weeks than they will be free for summer break. The girls are ready for summer vacation. Jake is still busy with work, but he is good about taking time in the evenings and weekends to spend with us. I am blessed! There was so much to be thankful for last week.

Counting My Blessings: Week In Review

It was a whirlwind and busy week. There were some days that didn’t go as planned and I got upset about some minor inconveniences. Rarely do my days go exactly as I plan, but sometimes I do not react well when it changes (need to work on this more). Especially thankful for a gracious husband and understanding people in my life who encourage me when I feel like things are flying apart. There was so much to be thankful for last week.
I want to be accountable to you so the following are snip-its of some of the things I am thankful for this past week. Counting My Blessings – Week In Review:
Monday – Thankful for the kids teachers (it was teacher appreciation week). The girls decided what they wanted to get their teachers, wrote their own thank you notes, and delivered them. Being a teacher isn’t always easy (neither is being a student at times), but we are thankful for the time the teachers invest into our kids.
Tuesday – Thankful for well behaved kids. The girls had to go with me to one of my appointments and they sat patiently and quietly in the lobby for over an hour reading, drawing, and other activities while waiting on me to wrap things up.
Wednesday – Thankful that Brina may only have one more week with spacer adjustments. She is getting close to where she needs to be positioned. If she gets to the right spot by this week, she will just need to hold in that position for the next several months without any more nightly turning. Yay!
Thursday – Thankful for patient, understanding, and kind husband. He listens. He cares. Despite all my imperfections, failures, and the drama over the little stuff he still loves me. I am truly blessed.
Friday – Thankful for my cousin Renelle. It is always great having a chance to catch up with each other. Even though there are many miles between us it is good to know that we can still stay in touch and encourage each other as we go through various stages in life. She always knows how to make me laugh. It is nice having someone you can bounce ideas off of and they don’t think your crazy!

Flashback Friday: Playing Around the House
Karlie talking to Daddy!
This Flashback Friday took place about 10 years ago. The girls loved having fun around the house (well at least we did). It was nice when we had time to relax as a family. Jake is always great with the kids. The girls were still little, but were starting to move around more on their own.
Hanging out on Tigger!
Karlie is unsure about this Tigger animal.

Counting My Blessings: Week In Review

A lot of extra items were going on last week with Jake traveling for work, the new HVAC getting installed, the girls State testing, and so much more. Hopefully, this week will be a little quieter and we will be able to be more productive as well as relax a little bit too. We did have a relaxing Sunday celebrating Mother’s Day even with Jake being on call over the weekend. There was so much to be thankful for last week.
I want to be accountable to you so the following are snip-its of some of the things I am thankful for this past week. Counting My Blessings – Week In Review:
Monday – Thankful for an opportunity to run errands and go out to dinner with the girls. It was nice sitting around the table of the restaurant relaxing and chatting with the kids.
Tuesday – Thankful for technology and the ability to stay connected with Jake even when he is traveling.
Wednesday – Thankful for doctors who are quick to respond, assist with questions, and willing to work around our schedule.
Thursday – Thankful for my family and friends who stay in touch. It would be nice to beam ourselves back and forth to see family and friends so far away, but thankful for moments to catch up and connect.
Friday – Thankful that the girls were able to finish another round of State Testing. Also, our HVAC is almost completed. It is working they had to come by for a little bit on Saturday to wrap things up.
What are you thankful for today? I encourage you to take the time to write down a few blessings that you have in your life today. It will help cheer you up and turn your focus on the amazing blessings you encounter each day!
Mother’s Day Celebration
Huge Mother’s Day chalk message on the driveway from Karlie!
I am blessed. Yesterday I was reminded again of how much God has given me. A family that loves me despite all my imperfections. Jake and the girls showered me with love on Mother’s Day. Even though Jake was on call this Mother’s Day weekend and was a little busier than normal, he made time to celebrate. It was a great day with the family.
They made me breakfast in bed. We went to church. Jake and the girls made an amazing lunch. That afternoon we relaxed, read books together, opened gifts, played games, and had fun. Thankful for my family and a chance to spend the day together. Their thoughtfulness made me feel loved and appreciated.
Breakfast in bed – cheesy scrambled eggs, ham, and sauteed mushrooms! Delicious!

But no one a flower,
Just like you!
Happy Mother’s Day! Hope you are having a nice and relaxing day. Do you like the card and rose? The rose is a rare blue rose that only grows on Neptune! May you please read to me on the deck?
Thankful for my family! I treasure these times we have together. I am blessed.
