  • Song: Give Me Faith by Elevation Worship

We can’t do it all on our own.  God can give us faith to do His work.  He is good and his love for us is great.

    I need You
To soften my heart and break me apart
To open my eyes, to see that You’re shaping my life

    All I am, I surrender

Give me faith to trust what You say,
That You’re good and Your love is great
I’m broken inside, I give You my life

And I may be weak but Your Spirit’s strong in me
My flesh may fail, but my God, You never will

  • Song: You Never Fail by Hillsong

Our God will never fail.  We sang this in church recently.  Every time I hear this song it is encouraging to me because no matter what I face our God never fails.  He is constant, faithful, and always available when we call upon His name.

When waters rise all around me
When mountains stand in the path I see
I look to love that’s unfailing
I look to grace that is all I needCall upon the Name
    Jesus Christ
    The only Name that saves

For there is no one like our God
There’s no one like our God
There’s nothing that can stand against You
There’s no stronghold You can’t break
No life that You can’t save
    Our God You never fail

Your light will shine through the darkness
Your word will calm every crashing wave
My hope it lies in Your promise
My faith it stands on the empty grave

    Strong through every trial
    Faithful through the night
    Our God will never fail
    Our God will never fail

  • Song: Greatness of Our God by Natalie Grant

We serve a great and powerful God.  He is living and nothing can ever separate us.  He loves us.  True greatness that cannot be contained or measured.

Give me eyes to see more of who You are,
May what I behold steal my anxious heart,
Take what I have known and break it all apart

For You, my God, are greater still

    And no sky contains,
no doubt restrains all You are,
    the greatness of our God
I’ve spent my life to know that I’m far from close to all You are,
    the greatness of our God

Give me grace to see beyond this moment here,
to believe that there is nothing left to fear.
And You were on it, high above it all,

  • Song: Live to Lose by Aaron Shust

He gave it all for me.  It is a privilege to be used by Him.  Thankful for everything he gave so freely to me.

Take my life, take it all
I lay it at Your throne
    I am rich, satisfied
    When I am Yours alone

I have learned to live to lose
I have found my home in You
I count it all as lose, it’s true
‘Cause I have learned to live to lose

    Precious One, crucified
    Died to set me free
I hold nothing back from You
Who gave it all for me

I have learned to live to lose
I have found my home in You
I count it all as lose, it’s true
‘Cause I have learned to live to lose

Jesus You’re the One, You’re the only One for me

  • Song: Glow In the Dark by Jason Gray

Our girls love items that glow in the dark.  When I first heard this song it made me smile because as a Christian we should be the shining lights in a dark world.  He can give us the light, hope, and strength we need to shine our lights to those around us.

Sometimes the world feels like a mess

Full of drama, full of stress

And life puts a fist right in your ribs

You can hide if you choose to

And no one would even blame you

Or you can let them see how you deal with it

That even in the darkest place

His love can make you radiate

Doesn’t matter how deep, how dark the night is

    Keep hoping, keep on shining

And they’ll see His light burning in your heart

And if the road gets rough, just keep your head up

Let the world see what you’re made of

That His love’s alive in your deepest parts

Like a flame, like a burning star you can shine right where you are

He made you to glow in the dark

  • Song: First by Lauren Daigle

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhsi5gh45m0

When we have a need what do we do first?  Do we try to do it on our own?  Do we seek God first?  Are we seeking God so he can “fix” our problems or truly seeking His wisdom first?  May we keep our gave upon Him for all our cares.

    Before I bring my need
    I will bring my heart
    Before I lift my cares
    I will lift my arms
    I wanna know You
    I wanna find You
    In every season
    In every moment
    Before I bring my need
    I will bring my heart
    And seek You

    First
    I wanna seek You
    First
    I wanna keep You
    First
More than anything I want, I want You
    First

    Before I speak a word
    Let me hear Your voice
And in the midst of pain
    Let me feel Your joy
    Ooh, I wanna know You
    I wanna find You
    In every season
    In every moment
    Before I speak a word
    I will bring my heart
    And seek You

  • Song: He Knows My Name by Francesca Battistelli

Once you are a child of the King he will forever know your name.  God can use you.  You don’t need to be famous in order to make an impact on the world around you.

    Spent today in a conversation
In the mirror face to face with
    somebody less than perfect
I wouldn’t choose me first if
I was looking for a champion
    In fact I’d understand if
    You picked everyone before me
But that’s just not my story
    True to who You are
    You saw my heart
    and made
    Something out of nothing

I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
    Make no mistake
    He knows my name
    I’m not living for applause
    I’m already so adored
    It’s all His stage
He knows my name oh, oh,

He calls me chosen, free forgiven, wanted, child of the King,
    His forever, held in treasure…
    I am loved

    I don’t need my name in lights…
    I’m famous in my Father’s eyes…

  • Song: I Am Not Alone by Kari Jobe

There is someone who will walk through the deep waters with you.  We are never alone.  There is no reason to fear or feel overwhelmed.  There have been times in my life that I have had to go through hard times and I have some close family and friends that are going through a difficult season in life.  We have hope because we are not alone.  God is with us always.

When I walk through deep waters
I know that you will be with me
When I’m standing in the fire
    I will not be overcome

    I am not alone
    You will go before me
    You will never leave me

In the midst of deep sorrow
I see your light is breaking through
The dark night will not over take me
    I am pressing into you
Lord you fight my every battle
    And I will not fear

    You’re my strength
    You’re my defender
You’re my refuge in the storm

    Through these trials
    You have always been faithful
You bring healing to my soul

  • Song: Shoulders by For King & Country

Where does our help come from?  Does it come from our Savior or do we turn to everything else first?  He is ready to help us.  Our help should from the one who can carry the weight on his shoulders.  The one who has our lives in His hands.

     When confusion’s my companion
And despair holds me for ransom
    I will feel no fear
I know that You are near
When I’m caught deep in the valley
    With chaos for my company
    I’ll find my comfort here
‘Cause I know that You are near

    My help comes from You
You’re right here, pulling me through
You carry my weakness, my sickness, my brokenness all on Your shoulders
    Your shoulders
    My help comes from You
You are my rest, my rescue
I don’t have to see to believe that You’re lifting me up on Your shoulders
    Your shoulders

You mend what once was shattered
And You turn my tears to laughter
    Your forgiveness is my fortress
    Oh Your mercy is relentless

  • Song: Flawless by Mercy Me

The cross is enough.  Yes, we have the ability to chose right from wrong, but God’s goodness and grace covered our sin on the cross.  The cross has made us flawless through his sacrifice because we cannot do it on our own.

    There’s got to be more
    Than going back and forth
From doing right to doing wrong
‘Cause we were taught that’s who we are
Come on get in line right behind me
    You along with everybody
Thinking there’s worth in what you do

Then like a hero who takes the stage when
We’re on the edge of our seats saying it’s too late
Well let me introduce you to amazing grace

    No matter the bumps
    No matter the bruises
    No matter the scars
    Still the truth is
    The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless
    No matter the hurt
Or how deep the wound is
    No matter the pain
    Still the truth is
    The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless

    Could it possibly be
    That we simply can’t believe
    That this unconditional
Kind of love would be enough
To take a filthy wretch like this
And wrap him up in righteousness
But that’s exactly what He did

Take a breath smile and say
Right here right now I’m ok because
    The cross was enough

Then like a hero who takes the stage when
We’re on the edge of our seats saying it’s too late
Well let me introduce you to grace grace
    God’s grace

    No matter what they say
Or what you think you are
The day you called His name
    He made you flawless
