I think it is important to share and encourage each other as we seek to improve our lives and the lives of those around us. I want to live intentionally not just hope all my dreams and goals come true. When I focus on small steps of improvement I am able to see results as I get closer to my goals. Some weeks I get closer to the goals I have in my life and other weeks a take a few steps back (life happens, emergencies occur, people get sick). Once the goals are written down and shared it provides a guideline for what I aim to accomplish this week.
Why Share My Goals?
- To keep me accountable
- To share a piece of my life with you as I strive to be a better Child of God, Wife, Mom, Friend, Homemaker, Entrepreneur and the many other roles I have each week
- To have my goals consistently written down so I can gauge progress more accurately
- Create healthy habits in my life
- To encourage you to share your goals with me as you continue to grown and learn
How did you do this week on your goals? Feel free to share or link to your list of weekly goals.

Charleston: Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry
Brina having fun at the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry.
On one of our visits to Charleston I asked what the girls would like to do and they requested to go to the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry. We spent the morning playing, exploring, and being creative at the museum. This was our second time visiting the Charleston’s Children Museum. Some of the rooms and displays were the same, but several were new so that made it entertaining for the kids. Thankful for a fun rainy morning inside with the kids!

Travel & Vacation: Casa Bonita in Denver, CO
Casa Bonita in Denver, CO
While the girls and I were visited family in Colorado we took the kids to Casa Bonita’s in Denver. Renelle, Eric, the girls, and I met up with our other family members at Casa Bonita (my parents, Uncle Rick, Aunt Mary Ann, Laurel, and Erik). I remember going to Casa Bonita’s when I was in Junior High, but our girls have never been to the restaurant. It is about what I remembered! It is a unique adventure if you have kids. You don’t necessarily go for the fine dining, but the entertainment is fun for the kids. The girls thought it was AWESOME!
Casa Bonita is Mexican food with a lot of fun kid activities:
- 30 Foot Waterfall
- Cliff Divers go off the waterfall every few minutes
- Stage Shows – rescuing the princess
- Musicians
- Arcade
- Black Bart’s Hideout
- Stalagmite Caves
- Jail
- Pinata
- Pinata fun for the kids
- And more activities!
If you are looking for a fun place to check out in Denver with the kids this may be a good spot. The food is okay, but you really go for the atmosphere as much as the meal.

Black Bart’s Hideout was NOT a favorite of the girls. I have one that really doesn’t like being scared nor does she like skeletons so this was one area she was not a fan of in Casa Bonita.
They won the pinata donkey body, ha! They thought it was great!!!
Uncle Eric and Aunt Renelle bought some arcade tokens. The girls really don’t go to the arcade so this was an extra special treat. They had a grand time on this game stomping on the “spiders”!
Playing Skeet ball with Uncle Eric!
Brina and Karlie playing skeet ball in the arcade!
How about a game of Popcorn!!!
Renelle is having a good laugh at the girls driving skills. A great reminder why we don’t let 9 years drive cars, ha! They had a blast though playing the games!
Going through the caves, looking at stalagmites, and pools of water!

On the Farm: Sand Pile Creations, Games, Hay Bale Climbing, and More!
Four kids and a pile of sand results in multiple interesting creations including a huge sand jacuzzi!
While staying at Grandpa and Grandma’s house this summer the girl’s cousins came over to spend a couple days with us. The kids had a blast coming up with a lot of fun activities to do together. It is amazing how long a big pile of sand can keep them occupied. All the kids played well together and had a grand time at Grandpa and Grandma’s house!
Grandma played several games with the kids. We have a lively game of Skippo going on this time around.
Oh my….they found a praying mantas in the yard.
Who knows what cool bugs you will find in Kansas!

Thankful that the girls had some time to hang out with their cousins!
Brina loves carrying around the dog!
The kids running around the yard for 3 minutes to vent off some extra energy. They were good sports and the dogs joined in on all the running around fun too!
Greenville: Bouncing Around at Pump It Up
Fun group of kids!
To celebrate the last week of Summer Break we joined friends at the Pump It Up in Greenville, SC. The kids had a blast bouncing around, climbing the rock wall, building items, and more. The kids played and were able to burn off some of that extra energy while the Moms had a few minutes to chat. Thankful for a time to get together with friends.

Greenville: Splashing Around at Otter Creek Waterpark
Brina and Karlie going down the blue slide together on a double tube!
Our end of Summer Break activity was going to the Otter Creek Waterpark! None of us had ever been to this Greenville Waterpark so we decided it should be the one we try out to celebrate the end of summer. It was actually one of the closer ones to us since we were coming from Easley. The girls had a BLAST swimming around. We arrived shortly after they opened and didn’t leave until late in the afternoon. We splashed around in the water and went down the slides many times! It was a lot of fun hanging out at the waterpark with the girls!

Karlie at the top of the white slide! She LOVED it! I did all the slides many times, but the white slide once was enough for me. WOW, it was so fast and my heart was in my throat as I flew down it. Not to mention with that much speed once you hit the water you had received a nice swimsuit wedgy, ha! Karlie on the other hand did the white slide many times!
Karlie flying down the slide again! It doesn’t look as steep in this picture, but trust me it was plenty steep! I thought I was going to fly right off of it I was going so fast! Fun times with the kids!
Travel & Vacation: The Grown Up Kids Having Fun Paddleboarding
Megan and Josh did really well on the paddleboard!
The lake was perfect for paddleboarding. Not only did the kids have fun trying out their talents on the paddleboard, but the adults had a blast too. It was great seeing everyone get up and zip (yes some faster than others) across the lake on the paddleboard. Thankful for some time of fun, laughter, and the chance to try a new activity with family!
Amber showing off her paddleboarding skills!
Who says the kids have all the fun! I think the adults had just as much fun on the paddleboard! At least Amber did!

Travel & Vacation: Kids Paddleboarding on Lake Milford
Yes, five kids can fit onto one paddleboard – Sierra, Brandon, Karlie, Nathan, and Brina
On our last full day at Lake Milford Nate used his money to rent a paddleboard for several hours. It provided a lot of fun entertainment for everyone! The kids had a grand time as well as the adults trying their balancing skills on the paddleboard. Thanks Nathan for sharing with everyone. What a fun day!

Brandon is a little concerned that Sierra’s balancing acts may result in getting him tipped over
Brandon, Brina, and Sierra all standing on the paddleboard. This is a lot harder than it looks because you have more movement and it is much easier to tip over.
Goofy kids!

Brandon thought it was hilarious that all the girls fell off the paddleboard.

Travel & Vacation: Tubing on Lake Milford
5 kids + 1 tube = loads of fun on the water!
Tubing was a huge hit with the kids again this year. I think almost all the kids went on the tube at some point over the weekend. We had two of the exact same tube in two of the boats so if one boat was water skiing and knee boarding the other boat would be doing the tube or something else.
Brina on the tube with her two cousins Nate and Brandon.
Nate, Brandon and Sierra went a little faster on the tube!
They got some air under that one!
The expressions on their faces crack me up!
You can’t go as fast with 5 kids on the tube, but they still had a grand time!
All smiles! Who knows what they were laughing about this time around!
Waving at the water skiers and knee boarders from the other boat!
Ready for a wild ride?! Bracing themselves for the next bump!
Smiling as they zip around the lake!
Always a couple of dare devils in every crowd!
Lunch time! Sandwiches and grapes on the tube (makes a good picnic table)!

Travel & Vacation: Water Skiing and Knee Boarding
Dad and Lee water skiing on the outsides while Megan and Josh knee board on the inside! All behind the boat at the same time! Way to go!!!
Our family enjoys the time on the lake! Whether it is water skiing, knee boarding, tubing, or whatever there is plenty of fun for everyone including the kids. It is always impressive to see several people being pulled behind the boat at the same time. A couple of the days while we were at the lake it was really windy, but the last full day at the lake was the perfect set up for pulling multiple people behind the boat. It takes a little more skill both for the driver and all the people in the water, but they managed to get up several times.
Karlie and Uncle Lee getting up on the knee boards!
And there up and going with smiles!
Our little water girl. She would probably live on the water if we let her. So proud of her doing the knee board several times all by herself this year!!!
Lee having fun!
Thumbs up!
He looks like he is up to something….
Having fun, but you can see it in her face she is getting tired. Just….a….little….bit….longer…..!
